Collection: Marisa S White - Above/Below

As I stop and look at the world around us, I’m constantly fascinated by how seemingly disparate elements fit together so perfectly.

Repeated patterns in nature, expressed through Fibonacci’s golden ratio present themselves in the number of petals on a flower, the proportions of our bodies, and the spiral of a galaxy, indicating that mathematics plays a role in the overall design of the natural world.

Every living thing has a purpose that contributes to the greater whole. Each organism, no matter how small or insignificant, plays a vital role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems. From the pollination of flowers by bees to the decomposition of organic matter by bacteria, every action serves a purpose in the grand scheme of things.

I explore these patterns and connections in an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the world around us and our place within it. This interconnectedness is depicted through the use of sacred geometry, the presence of water as a life-giving source, and the metaphysical undertones that speak to a greater consciousness at hand.
